Yasuaki Onishi’s Meditation on Negative Space

Japanese artist Yasuaki Onishi has installed an ethereal mountainscape of plastic sheeting suspended with clear line and jet-black hot glue at the Rice University Art Gallery in Houston. Titled “Reverse of Volume RG,” the piece is a meditation on negative space and naturally occurring invisible phenomena such as air, time, heat, and gravity. Read more…
